As they continue to grow, we’re looking for a motivated Technical Customer Representative - Engineering Estimator to join their dynamic team and become a key part of delivering exceptional results for their customers.
What will you be doing?
This is not your typical customer service job. You’ll be working closely with a wide range of clients and internal teams to deliver technical solutions that are both innovative and practical. Your role is to make things happen – from interpreting complex requirements to problem-solving, to communicating ideas clearly and confidently.
Some of your key tasks will include and are not limited to:
- Manage and prioritise customer workflow, liaising with the workshop and stores.
- Identify potential areas of business growth within current and new customers by implementing strategies to deliver the ongoing benefits.
- Recognise opportunities to add value beyond the current enquiry.
- Identify risk – assess impact, eliminate, or minimise.
- Partners with customers to find smarter, more efficient ways to complete jobs.
- Builds strong customer relationships, especially with key customer stakeholders.
- Provide exceptional customer service/experience and manage customer expectations with a view to providing positive outcomes.
- Draughting work using drawing software for targeted customers or projects.
- Estimate costs to prepare quotes and process orders received.
- Act on feedback from the workshop, when it comes through.
We are looking for someone who:
- Strong technical background and a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Familiarity with CAD, SolidWorks, and working with sheet metal or tube material is a strong advantage.
- Ideally has experience or exposure to sheet metal fabrication, or at least understands the basics.
- Commercial acumen and ability to see the big picture.
- Customer service experience, as you will be dealing with customers both internally and externally.
- Proactive approach and able to work strategically with customers to get the best outcome for them and the company.
- Excellent communication, phone manner and written skills.
- Ability to multitask, respond quickly and prioritise your workload, in a fast paced environment.
